Upon entering this distinguished area, we will ascend higher on a narrow and winding path, experiencing a shift from the drier lowlands to a lush rainforest-like ecosystem of mature trees and hanging vines.

Upon arrival at the crater rim, take a moment to pause and appreciate the breathtaking view of the crater floor from the designated viewpoint. Afterward, make your way to Rhino Lodge, where you will be lodging tonight.

About this Lodge

This exceptional lodge is situated in an isolated area on the untamed edge of the crater rim, providing an unmatched wildlife encounter while also providing an authentic glimpse into the surrounding landscape and culture.

Your private guide will accompany you on a full-day excursion to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Located just 25 minutes away from the Soneto Descent Road, Rhino Lodge offers the advantage of being one of the first cars down to the crater floor in the morning, capturing the breathtaking golden light.

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and renowned as one of the world's most iconic wildlife areas, the Ngorongoro Crater is a remarkable natural wonder. Formed millions of years ago by a volcanic explosion and subsequent collapse, it is the largest intact and inactive volcanic caldera on Earth.

Covering an expansive 100 square miles, the crater floor is predominantly covered in grasslands, with two small wooded areas and a seasonal Salt Lake, known as Lake Magadi or Lake Makat, at its center. The eastern crater wall is adorned by the Ngoitokitok, a significant water source.

Wildlife spotting is a thrilling and easily accessible experience in the crater, allowing you to cover a vast area in a single day. Afterwards, you will proceed to Serengeti National Park for an overnight stay.

Tonight, you will stay at the Kati Kati Tented Camp. Located in the central Seronera area of the Serengeti, "Kati Kati" means "center" in Swahili. This mobile camp offers ten en-suite guest tents, creating an intimate and tranquil atmosphere that is further enhanced by the warm and welcoming staff.

Immerse yourself in an authentic bush experience at this camp. Gather around the campfire with fellow travelers, enjoying snacks and beverages as you share stories of your safari adventures.

When not exploring the wilderness, take a moment for yourself in the lounge tent or library, or simply relax on your veranda, soaking in the untamed landscape and keeping an eye out for wildlife sightings.

During your Tanzania safari, you will have two full days to immerse yourself in the wonders of Serengeti National Park. This extraordinary wildlife destination offers exceptional game viewing opportunities throughout the year, thanks to the abundant species that call this area home.

As you explore the region, you can expect to encounter a variety of animals such as zebra, topi, gazelles, impala, buffalo, and giraffe. While leopard sightings may be rare, lions are often found in close proximity.

The Serengeti is characterized by lush, rolling grasslands with scattered trees and watercourses. It marks the northernmost point of the Great Migration, which extends into Kenya's Masai Mara.

From July to October, the herds gather on both banks of the Mara River, often braving the crocodile-infested waters as they cross back and forth, responding to local weather conditions that only they seem to understand. While witnessing the renowned "River Crossing" is a highlight for many adventurers, the event is unpredictable and subject to chance.

Your accommodation for this leg of the journey will be the Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp. Located in the northern Serengeti, just a short ten-minute drive from the Mara River, this camp offers a unique opportunity to enjoy an authentic safari camp experience with comfortable accommodations.

At the heart of the camp, you'll find a warm and inviting mess tent where delicious meals are served. Before dinner, indulge in appetizers and snacks by the campfire, which is lit every evening, creating a cozy ambiance.

The camp provides ten double tents, each equipped with en-suite facilities. Additionally, there is a family tent available, comfortably accommodating two adults and two children.

Your flight schedule will determine whether you can embark on a final game drive with your guide before their departure. Afterward, you will take an internal flight to Zanzibar via a scenic light aircraft adventure.

Once you arrive at Zanzibar Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Fumba Beach Hotel. Located beachfront, you will be staying for four nights on a half-board basis, experiencing a wonderful retreat amidst the beautiful landscape.

During your stay in Zanzibar, you will have three entire days at your disposal to discover the island at your own pace. Whether you choose to engage in a wide variety of activities or simply take it easy and relax, the choice is entirely yours.

Numerous exciting adventures await you, such as visits to the tortoise sanctuary on Prison Island or the Zanzibar red colobus monkey habitat in Jozani Forest. Additionally, you may want to consider taking a day trip to Stone Town or visiting one of the local spice plantations.

At the plantations, you will have an opportunity to engage in a hands-on experience, tasting and smelling Zanzibar's renowned spices. As part of your tour, you will also savor a delicious, locally cooked lunch.

All of these and additional activities can be prearranged ahead of time or organized through Fumba Beach Hotel while you are here.

It's time to bid adieu to the mesmerizing Fumba Beach Hotel, for your adventurous soul is craving for more.
