Overview
Nyerere National Park is the new largest national park in Africa. Established in 2019, it covers over 30,000 sq kilometers with relatively undisturbed ecological and biological processes, including a diverse range of wildlife. The Rufiji River flows to the Indian Ocean and has been designated as an eco-photo tourist sight for its hippos and rhinos. Visitors are drawn by these animals as well as by other inhabitants like giraffes and elephants that are unique to Nyerere National Park’s ecosystem.
